JCC Maccabi GamesJuly 25-August 5, 2011 – in Israel The JCC Maccabi Games can be called the Olympics for Jewish teens, but they serve a larger purpose than athletic competition. The Games also promote community involvement, teamwork, and pride in being Jewish.
Over 3,000 Jewish teens from the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Mexico and Venezuela come together for a week of competition, community service and social activities. The JCC Maccabi Games offer a transforming and powerful experience to Jewish teens by integrating sports with Jewish identity and values.
At this Jewish Olympic-style event, each athlete has the chance to participate in one of 14 sporting competitions. Each athlete wins by creating memories that will last a lifetime. The Maccabi Games provide Jewish youth with a supportive environment that fosters mutual respect and sportsmanship, where they can interact in an atmosphere of fun, democracy, and peace.
